但是它的流传却都在中亚 西藏等地
老外认为同属天珠工艺  可能都源于古代印度和西亚的蚀花玛瑙
有很多专业文章  但是都是流传品  出土证据很难找

Original pumtek beads were made in Burma (now Myanmar) from opalized palm wood. 
They are rare and valuable, having been made more than a thousand years ago. 
In the 1920s, the original beads were no longer being found at sites of ruins,  and new ones began to be made from fossilized (not opalized) wood.
